"A small cut flower garden became a source of healing for me after stepping down from my full time practice as a nurse practitioner during Covid. We had always wanted to use our land for the community, so during my new found extra time I finally had the capacity to dream of what that could look like. Cut flowers became the answer! It has continued to evolve and I feel like we're finally finding our stride and areas of focus as we enter our 5th growing season in 2025."

"When I was a little girl I grew up visiting my great aunts Victorian home surrounded by roses. As a child the smell and atmosphere of those roses was intoxicating. To me it was the most romantic place on earth. I believed Prince Charming would pop out of the bushes and animals actually spoke in that rose garden! The experience made a lasting imprint on my spirit. I knew one day I would build a Victorian home and surround it with roses. I would then share as much of it as I could with as many people as I could in hopes that the beauty of a rose would bring the same joy to others spirits as they do to mine."

"I dreamt of farming as a child, connecting with the earth, growing for the community. But, I never knew what I wanted to farm until I saw an article in Mary Jane's Farm magazine about flower farming. My jaw dropped instantly and I knew then and there what I wanted to farm! I read that article in 2016. My dreams filled with acres of blooms and people coming to experience the beauty and the joy they bring. At the time I didn't have the resources (land) available to jump on that dream quite yet, but in 2021 I found myself in a house with a couple of small garden beds. With my husband's encouragement and helpful hands, I started my trial year with a few zinnia, celosia, feverfew, and sunflower seeds, as well as a few dahlia tubers. It was so exciting seeing my little baby seedlings grow into beautiful flowers that I cut for bouquets! I was hooked and knew I had to eventually make this my full-time job. It's 2024 now. I have six 25-foot rows of dahlias and many more rows of blooms I've cultivated from seed. I've never felt more fulfilled. It brings me immense joy when I see someone else enjoying my fresh flowers as much as I do."

"My journey into flower farming was inspired by a lifelong love of nature and the wonder of God's goodness that flowers bring into our lives. I have a precious memory of planting sunflower seeds with my grandmother as a child and finding so much joy in the growing process. What began as a simple passion, has blossomed into this farm, Grace in the Garden. I believe flowers are a way to connect with others and to brighten someone’s day—it means the world to me to be able to share these blooms with you."

"I’ve been growing for years for my own personal use and enjoyment. I grow David Austin roses and would often end up with way more than I could enjoy. People knew me for my roses and always encouraged me to sell them but I didn’t for years. About three years ago I dipped my toe in the water to see what would happen. I thought it would be a major flop and no one would want any….i sold out. Ha! What was just a one time thing turned into another weekend offering and things just snowballed. I used a lot of perennial plants my first year with some annuals, diversified my second year, and am still honing and refining my third year. I’m constantly learning more and love that there is ALWAYS something new to discover or tinker with!"

"We use NO herbicides. We pull weeds by hand and use landscape fabric. We use NO pesticides. We invite all the good bugs such as ladybugs and praying mantis to eat the bad bugs. We continue to build our soil with organic material that we source locally and directly. We have our soil tested yearly and add the recommended nutrients."

"I have always loved the beauty of flowers and I am an interior designer so flowers were always the cherry on top of spaces that I would create! When my husband and I started remodeling an old mechanic shop into our home, we slowly created flower beds around our home that all had plants that produced cut flowers! I quickly realized I wanted more than just perennial beds, so I expanded to a large backyard cutting garden where I now sell to farmers markets, florists and use my own products for locally grown options in my wedding designs! Most of what I have learned has been self taught with LOTS of research and more trial and error! I have also been blessed to learn from other local growers that I partner with to supply local flowers for my wedding clients in the NWA area over the past few years!"

"Gardening has always been a source of joy for me and a place I go to still my heart and escape the noise and draining demands of life. As a believer in Jesus, I find sweet moments of communion and lessons in the cultivating. At the end of the year 2022, I was propelled into a difficult season and was desperate to find solace from the hardship. Searching for peace and hope, I sensed God turning my dream of "one day" starting a flower farm into a reality. With 3 young children still at home, I began the planning process over that winter, and started selling flowers at a farmer's market, through bouquet subscriptions, and at my roadside that spring.
